Nicole is an artist, educator, and small business owner. Nicole currently teaches at Columbia College and runs One Strange Bird. Nicole received her MFA from UIC in 2008 and has been making and showing artwork for over 10 years. She has shown at Thomas McCormick gallery, the Hyde Park Art Center, and in the Next Fair among others. Nicole is a maker and loves painting, drawing, crafting, and learning new skills to share with her students.
Jess Egan is a Chicago based artist originally from Wisconsin. She graduated from Columbia College Chicago, receiving her Bachelors of Fine Art Degree with a Minor in Environmental Science. Her interests lie in feminism, environmental activism, and biological processes. She has been teaching for many years with a focus in both art and science.
Jen Small is an artist and educator who relocated to Chicago in 2013 from the Washington DC area. Originally from Pennsylvania, Jen attended Millersville University and received degrees in fine art and art education. After a few years teaching high school art she went on to graduate school at Savannah College of Art and Design in Savannah, Geargia and completed her MFA in painting in 2012. Jen's paintings are abstractions of her everyday environment focusing on the aesthetic beauty found in daily life. She has shown her paintings in New York, Washington DC, and Richmond, Virginia and was also a featured artist in the 2013 New American Paintings MFA Annual. Jen loves creating art and empowering others to be creators as well.
Amanda Smith is an artist who has been living and working in Chicago since 2011. Born and raised in Austin, Texas, she received her Bachelors of Fine Art from the University of Texas with a focus in painting and printmaking, and made her way to the Midwest shortly after graduation. Amanda's work explores themes of femininity and common human experience. She loves sharing her passion for making art (and having fun in the process!) with others.
