Field Notes - Flora
Regular price $15.95 Save $-15.95Celebrating the playful creativity of youth, these Field Notes Quarterly Edition memo books feature three colorful cover designs by Chicago artist Emmy Star Brown. The name Flora is a reference to the Roman goddess of flowers and spring, who was also closely associated with youth. Inside, the books feature white 60# Domtar Lynx paper with a 4.7 mm dot grid printed in gray ink.
Like other Field Notes books, these are durable and flexible, bound with three rugged staples and designed to survive any pocket or bag. Inside the front cover, you can write in your contact information and, with a sense of humor, indicate whether or not the person who returns your lost book will be rewarded. The inside back cover lists "practical" applications for the memo books such as "Favorite Ferns" and "Fresh Feelings." The Field Notes story and further specifications are also presented. The books are manufactured and printed in the USA.
TEST 12: ELECTRICAL RESISTANCE
Months of development and testing were required to get these books just right, and we’d like to thank Yupo for their extensive support, as well as the great printers and ink technicians that pitched in to help.
The majority of our customers may not test the limits of these notebooks, but the map of Antarctica is neither hyperbole nor coincidence. We’ll be sending the Expedition edition to the South Pole with explorer Ben Saunders as he and his team retrace Captain Robert Falcon Scott’s ill-fated journey to the Pole and back, on foot and unsupported, starting in October 2013.
Note: Synthetic paper is nonporous and doesn’t absorb ink like our conventional papers. Ballpoint pens, pencils, or fine tip Sharpies work best. Of course, the perfect companion for the “Expedition” Edition is our Matte Black or Chrome Space Pen.
